📦 Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: Phone number for OTP-based authentication, display name, and profile photo (optional).
• Listing Information: Photos, title, description, price, category, and location you provide when posting an ad.
• Location Data: City, state, and area you select when posting an ad. GPS coordinates only if you choose "Use Current Location".
• Messages: Chat messages exchanged between buyers and sellers through the in-app chat.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, and FCM token for push notifications.
• Usage Data: How you interact with the app (screens visited, searches made) to improve our service.

🎯 How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Verify your identity via OTP and manage your account.
• Display your listings to other users in your area.
• Enable communication between buyers and sellers via in-app chat.
• Send you push notifications about ad status, messages, and updates.
• Review and moderate listings to maintain quality and safety.
• Improve the app experience based on usage patterns.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms.

🔗 Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited cases:

• Other Users: Your listing details (photos, title, price, location area) are visible to all users. Your phone number is never shared publicly.
• Service Providers: We use Supabase (database & storage) and Firebase (authentication & notifications). These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

📍 Location Data

Location information is used solely to show your listings to nearby buyers and to display relevant ads to you.

• Manual location: The state, city, and area you select from our dropdown menus.
• GPS location: Only when you explicitly tap "Use Current Location". We never track your location in the background.

🗂️ Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers with row-level security policies. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Images are stored in secure cloud storage.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by deleting your account from within the app's Settings screen.

👤 Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Edit your profile and listing information at any time within the app.
• Delete your account and all associated data from the app's Settings screen.
• Opt out of push notifications via your device settings or the app's notification settings.
• Request a copy of your data by emailing us at jvklabs@gmail.com.

🧒 Children's Privacy

JKVmarket is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at jvklabs@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

🔔 Push Notifications

We send push notifications for:

• New chat messages from buyers or sellers.
• Ad approval or rejection status updates.
• Ad expiry reminders.

You can disable notifications at any time through your device's notification settings or within the app under Settings → Notifications.

🔄 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via a push notification or an in-app message.

Continued use of JKVmarket after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. The date at the top of this page always reflects when it was last updated.
